Let iFishiBelong guide your exploration of new locations and rivers by participating in the Oregon 2024 Fish and Hang event.  Your registration includes:

  • Choose between a Hat or Tee Shirt: Pick your preferred style and champion "iFishiBelong". Make a stylish statement during the event and in the days ahead. A separate email will be sent for you to choose your hat or tee.
  • 1hr Casting Lesson Opportunity on Saturday 6/1/24:  Be one of the inaugural participants to sign up for a hour-long fly casting lesson, guided by industry experts. The session includes both a beginner and an intermediate/advanced segment, with donations being shared between the Deschutes River Alliance and iFishiBelong.  Registration goes live in March.
  • Troutfest: Live music both Friday 5/31 and Saturday evening 6/1, informative clinics, delicious food and refreshing beer.  We’ve deliberately aligned our Oregon Fish and Hang event with the Deschutes River Alliance (DRA) Troutfestoffering everyone the chance to participate, learn from industry experts, and celebrate the Deschutes River together.
  • Interactive Live Q&A Session: Have your questions addressed during our live Q&A session featuring event hosts, local guides, and fly shops specific to the Oregon Fish and Hang.
  • "Summer Trout Fishing Techniques" Recorded Online Class: Tune into the "Summer Trout Fishing Techniques" online class at your convenience, from any location. This session will ensure you arrive in Oregon well-prepared and equipped with new knowledge on summer fishing.
  • Nightly Social Evenings: Every evening, gather for an "evening hang" where you can share fishing stories and connect at various locations hosted by iFishiBelong and local venues.
  • Social Fishing Day on Friday:  Geared towards communal angling, Friday presents the ideal opportunity to embark on a water adventure with newly made friends. Departing in the early morning, we'll venture on a half day trip to fish the Deschutes River. Please note that it is subject to a permit approval from the BLM and your fishing license and travel are not included.
  • Location and Fishing Research: iFishiBelong has simplified your exploration of visiting and fishing the famous Deschutes River in Oregon.  We've done the preliminary research of the area, compiled links to relevant travel and fishing blogs, provided guidance on fishing gear and fly choices, and mapped out several fishing spots, focusing primarily on DIY walk and wade fishing opportunities.  While there's still some legwork for each angler, a significant portion of the groundwork has been laid out for you.
  • In-Person Workshop Opportunity: A 4-hr workshop will be offered on Thursday 5/30/24.  The “Fishing the Deschutes River” workshop gives participants a deep dive into techniques and tactics tailored for this iconic river. Geared towards the advanced beginner and intermediate anglers. 
  • Dedicated Co-Hosts Focusing on Education, Community and Fun
  • Commitment to Support Local Businesses and Highlight Women and Underrepresented Owners and Guides in the Region
  • Giving Back: The registration fee directly supports iFishiBelong's mission of providing affordable opportunities for individuals of varying financial means through the organization of various cost-effective events and trips.
  • Scholarships Available: We are developing a scholarship program for the Fish and Hang events. This program will offer 5 scholarships per location: one primary scholarship covering registration, a spot in the group campsite at the Maupin City Park, an Oregon fishing license, the “Fishing the Deschutes River” workshop, and  $250 for travel. Additionally, the remaining 4 scholarships will cover the costs of registration and a spot in a group campsite at Maupin City Park.  The scholarship application period is from March 1st to March 31st, 2024.  Stay Tuned.
